Cleethorpes Academy is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive of 850 students. The Academy opened in September 2010 to serve the local Cleethorpes area and was sponsored by Cleethorpes Academy, an outstanding secondary school.
In September 2012, Cleethorpes Academy joined the Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust (MAT) Family of Academies as a constituent academy.
The Academy has undergone a £7.7m rebuilding/refurbishment programme that was completed in September 2013.
This programme enabled the Academy to have new accommodation for Technology, Art, Mathematics and Citizenship together with a new sports centre. All other areas have been fully refurbished.
The curriculum organisation of the Academy is based on Curriculum Areas, each having a suite of rooms within the various teaching blocks. The Curriculum Areas are: English, Maths, Science, Art, Business, ICT, Citizenship, History, Geography, RE, Modern Languages, Music, P.E., Special Needs and Technology.
Pastoral care in the Academy is organised on a 'vertical' House System. Heads of House and their teams work to Senior Pastoral managers. All teachers are House Tutors and take initial responsibility for the pastoral and academic care of the students. We are proud of the care and guidance offered to students at the Academy which was highly praised in our recent Ofsted inspection.
The Academy operates an Equal Preference Admission Policy, which means that it attracts students from a wide area.
