Outside The Classroom

• The Academies have a deserved reputation for sporting excellence and all students are encouraged to participate.
• Homework Clinics are offered in a variety of subjects so that students can access our excellent resources outside the academy day.
• There is a wide variety of music and creative arts activities.
• After-school support is arranged for pupils who need additional help.
• The Young Enterprise project, sponsored by local businesses, operates in the upper school. Over the years our students have collected many awards in their annual competitions.
• The Academy supports students who wish to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
• A wide range of educational visits to support the curriculum is offered to students in all years.
• Students are encouraged to participate in educational competitions.

Clubs, Societies and Extra-Curricular Activities 2022/2023

Our curriculum is everything that the students learn and experience whilst they are with us at the academy. We plan a number of external visits to complement learning that takes place in the classroom, support students in making their post-16 choices or facilitate students' love of extra-curricular activities.

For many years the Academy has had strong connection with the local NCS (National Citizen Service) and a large proportion of our Year 11 students enrol in the summer programme, then return the following year to support as youth NCS leaders.
