Magical performances

Audiences were left spellbound when academy students performed Disney's smash hit Mary Poppins.

The school hall was packed for five magical performances with families, friends and invited children from local primary schools left enchanted by the high standards of singing, dancing and acting.

Principal Paul Thundercliffe was "incredibly proud".

"I thought it was an amazing show and I know visitors felt the same too," he said.

"We have had tremendous feedback from the community and I was delighted to see so many of our future students enjoy the show and what we are all about.  A massive congratulations to the students.

"We have worked all year to build an immersive, community-led culture and nothing proves that more than a toe-tapping, whole school musical.  It proved a fabulous showcase for the talent we have at the academy.

"I'd also like to say a huge thank you to all the staff involved in what has been a huge commitment. Parents, too, for their diligence in drop-offs and pick-ups around rehearsals.

"Together, they have created something very special, with memories that will last a lifetime."
